The "Humans of" phenomenon began with a man named Brandon Staton who complied thousands of portraits of people living in New York City into a blog. Over time this blog captured the attention of thousands of people and is one of the most emulated photographic blogs around the world.

originally from Germany, he had a high paying, high pressure job, until he bought a round the world airline ticket, and eventually, "all the bricks came off my shoulders."
Met his partner here, had babies, and for the past 7 years, they spend 8 months a year doing the Gypsy Fair.
His face kind of glows with happiness when he talks about it.....
